I’m going to throw it out there – I don’t like greetings cards I’ve found something much more exciting; Cakes delivered to your door via bakerdays.com.
bakerdays.com provide a delivery service of cakes, personalised cakes, cakes for pretty much most occasions and even have thought to cater for special dietary needs. If that wasn’t good enough you even get a choice of filling and they even deliver balloons along with your cake to make the occasion of opening it even more exciting.

Now unfortunately for bakerdays my cake didn’t fit through my letter box so I had to go and collect from my sorting office which is no longer particularly local to me due to Royal Mail cuts (separate rant, I’ll just leave this one and move on).
I have discovered my letterbox is slimmer than most, and my neighbours have discovered I’m a bit of a lunatic as, for the pupose of this review, I walked up and down the street testing the box in their letterboxes and it would have fit through all of theirs so I suppose I was just unfortunate.
Much like ordering a bunch of flowers baker days provide a delivery service, but with the letterbox 52 cake the recipient doesn’t even need to be in and will get a very tasty treat when they arrive home.
It’s important to mention here that these prices are for a basic vanilla sponge, additions like chocolate or the dietary options have a small additional cost.
All in all for the occasion and delight that a cake in a box would give me, if I were ever lucky enough to receive one as a gift (hint hint) then I think the prices are proportionate to those feelings.
I was so surprised that when I opened my cake I got extras. There was a sweet little bag (pardon the pun) of 2 x candles, a pack of 3 balloons, a party blower/hooter/paper thing that unrolls when you blow it meaning that I had everything I needed to make an occasion of the cake right from the box.
It was a good taste I think possible the letterbox size isn’t one where maybe the light fluffiness is able to shine as it is a restricted size, however as an avid fondant-icing-picker-offer, I did really like this fondant icing and ate what I had initially peeled off.
I will be using bakerdays again, so friends, if you’re reading this please wait patiently for your next occasion or for simply that time I fancy sending a cake to you with my face on it to brighten up your day! (vain).
I love the convince, the thought, and the ease of ordering from the website and bakerdays are providing something that little bit different to a greetings card with a voucher in it or a bunch of flowers. I value time spent with people and other little tokens more than a greetings card so products/services like bakerdays are just what I’m looking for!
Thank you bakerdays I’ll be placing my next order very soon x
