About

Processed with MOLDIVHi,

I’m Aoife (it’s pronounced EEFA). I love my name but as I needed to create a blog people can find and spell correctly I have chosen a name based around my Daughters name: Nuala May.

I’ve been saying for well over a year now I’m going to start a blog. As it’s taken so long the name MayB Today (B being our surname) came about.

I am a busy working mum of 2 children, Hughie 5 and Nuala 3. I live with them, my husband and our little pug dog Zippy.

Since before motherhood I have been seeking A different life. I love working and my job but I have felt that I need for it not to be the only thing I rely on. I have no intention of leaving work as I’m lucky enough to say I really enjoy it, I just want to be able to work because I want to and not because I need to.

It all started after I read these two books:

Rich Dad Poor Dad

The 4-Hour Work Week: Escape the 9-5, Live Anywhere and Join the New Rich

Since reading these I think to begin with I had unrealistic expectations of what I could to do, however the general mind-set in both books I could relate to. As always these books give you an ideology, somewhat unrealistic but if you need a kick up the bum then these could be the books for you. I read Rich Dad Poor Dad a few years ago now but some of the inspirational quotes still ring around my head. I will show you some ways I have failed and some I have succeeded in generating multiple income streams throughout this blog and hopefully you will feel inspired to try one or two for yourself.

Look, essentially I am a scatterbrain and my main reason for creating my blog is to try to gain an organised library of my thoughts and ideas. I’ve recently been exploring Mindfulness and minimalism to try to calm my overactive,  over analysing thoughts so I’ve included mind as a category on the blog. It’s mainly a way to rein myself in but you may feel that some of my activities could be of use to you too.

I hope you enjoy xx
